Pre-Kinder and Kindergarten

Kindergarten and Pre-Kinder programs that prepares children for life

Preparing for school is a big milestone. While every part of your child’s first 5 years is important, we know you want to be sure that your child is truly ready for starting school.

Your child’s safety and wellbeing always come first. We create a caring environment where every child feels secure, supported, and ready to grow, because research shows that strong social and emotional foundations are the key to thriving at school and beyond.

Our Kinder program has a two-year Kindergarten program that meets the National Quality Standard and the National Quality Framework. It offers the support, structure, and inspiration your child needs to thrive.

Our program for children aged 3-4 and 4-5 years old ensures they are supported to develop the important emotional, social, and thinking skills they need to make sure they are ready to school.

Our structured educational program across 7 areas of learning has been carefully designed to meet your child’s individual needs and we use our Development Pathways to ensure it is relevant to your child’s age and stage of development.

A Flying Start to School is implemented by our University-qualified Early Childhood Teachers in a way that is fun and engaging for your child and includes specific learning experiences in carefully curated environments that inspire curiosity, collaboration and critical thinking.

Our teams know how to support children who move ahead faster than others or who are slightly older and are starting school a little bit later. We will work with your child to meet them where they are at and further extend their learning.

We hold Kindergarten/Preschool Information sessions each year for our families to support this big change and make connections through our Local School Program to build your child’s confidence and familiarity with ‘going to big school’.

Understanding your child at every stage

At each stage of your child’s early life, they have different needs and display quite distinctive behaviours.

The 3-year-old kinder program, developed for 3-4-year-olds, is based on discovery, independence and communication.

This age group has thoughts, theories and opinions about the world which they want to share with others. They are curious and brave and want to try things for themselves, work out solutions and be heard by those around them.

We encourage each child to develop confidence and independence in a safe, supportive environment where it is okay to make mistakes and try again. They can be part of a group who celebrates achievements and strengths. This supports your child to become resilient, persistent, and feel great about themselves as a learner.

The 4-year-old kinder program is designed for the next stage of Kindergarten and Preschool where 4-5-year-olds and 5-6-year-olds are developing a strong sense of identity and bravery and becoming a valued part of their community.

At this age they think deeply about more complicated ideas, including caring, fairness and justice. They are responsible and kind, with a clear perspective on what matters to them.

This time is all about your child feeling acknowledged and learning to interpret the world and communicate ideas in a range of ways. This is done in safe spaces that challenge children to think, solve problems and take some risks. Their thinking is becoming more complex, and they can make decisions and discuss ideas within the group.
