FAQs
We provide a gentle orientation and settling-in period. Families are welcome to stay with their child during drop-off or pick-up for as long as they want. Before your child’s first day, you’ll receive a tour and opportunities to ask questions. Educators will focus on building bonds with your child and helping them feel safe, secure, and excited about their new environment.
Yes. We encourage families to stay as long as needed during the settling-in process. This helps children feel comfortable while giving parents peace of mind.
Our educators build strong relationships with each child from day one. We also invite families to share information about their child’s interests, routines, and any concerns so that we can support them individually.
We are open from Monday-Friday from 6:30am-6:00pm, excluding public holidays.
We welcome children from 6 months up to 5 years
We provide nutritious meals and snacks daily, catering to a variety of dietary needs and allergies.
Yes. Rest times are included in the daily routine. Younger children are supported with naps, while older children enjoy quiet, restful activities.
Our team is made up of qualified and experienced educators, including bachelor-qualified teachers for our kindergarten and preschool programs.
We keep families informed through daily updates, newsletters, and open communication with educators. We also use the Storypark application to share photos, stories, and updates about your child’s day, so you’ll always know how they are settling, learning, and developing.
The out-of-pocket cost of childcare is a real consideration for families assessing their care options. Many families are able to take advantage of the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and other additional Preschool/Kindergarten state based subsidies to further reduce out of pocket costs. Our centre team can share with you our daily fees during a tour and if you like can give you an estimate of what your out of pocket fees may be after these subsidies have been applied.

Shooting Stars Early Learning Centre is to participate in the Victorian Government’s 2025 Free Kinder initiative. Families enrolled in our integrated kindergarten programs (within our long day care services) can access up to $2,101 in annual fee savings, applied directly to their fees. This applies to both both three-year-old and four-year-old children. The fee reduction does not affect your Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and is applied after CCS to maximise your savings. This is available to both Australian and non-Australian citizens.
